Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to install anything?
No. RAW's Screen Recorder uses your browser's built-in screen capture API (getDisplayMedia). It works in Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and other modern browsers without any extensions or software.
Is my recording uploaded anywhere?
No. The recording stays entirely in your browser. The video is assembled locally and you download it as a file. Nothing is uploaded to any server.
Can I record with audio?
Yes. You can enable microphone audio to narrate while recording. System audio (from the tab or app) may also be captured depending on your browser and what you're sharing.
What format is the recording?
Recordings are saved as WebM (VP9 video codec). WebM is supported by all modern browsers and can be converted to MP4 using free tools like FFmpeg or online converters.
